So far, so good

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Komets lead the Kalamazoo Wings 1-0 after one period at Wings Stadium tonight, thanks to a Mike Embach goal on Fort Wayne's first shot of the game.

Defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin's 60-foot shot set up the goal, after Embach had slipped behind defenseman Brandon Martell.

In his first ECHL start, goalie Max Strang has stopped eight shots so far for the Komets. His best work came on a Wings power play, when he stopped two Nick Sirota shots from point-blank range.
