UAW to roast Moses

Former Fort Wayne mayor and ex-state legislator Win Moses will be the subject of a roast to raise money for a scholarship fund.

United Auto Workers Local 2209, the bargaining unit at the General Motors pickup assembly plant in southwest Allen County, will roast Moses on Feb. 22 at its union hall west of the plant, at 5820 E. Huntington County Road 900 North.

Moses, a Democrat, was a member of the City Council in the 1970s, a two-term mayor in the 1980s and a member of the Indiana House from 1992 until 2012.

Tickets for the roast are $35 a person or $280 for a table of eight people. Proceeds will benefit the Local 2209 Civil and Human Rights Committee Scholarship Fund.

Cocktails will be available at 6 p.m., dinner will be at 7 and the roast will be from 7:45 to 9. Reservations are due Feb. 12 by calling 260-672-2209.
