Foster parent event

The Villages of Indiana will have a foster parent information night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10 and March 10 at 2250 Lake Ave, suite 160. To register, call 800-831-4154.


Sherri Milton of Kosciusko County was named Indiana Big Sister of the Year by the Indiana Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

Young & Free Indiana, sponsored by 3Rivers Federal Credit Union, announced the following winners of the Jump for Joy Video contest: Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, $3,000; Fort Wayne Obedience Training Club, $500; The Brandon Foundation, $500; and Kate’s Kart, $500. All other nominated nonprofits were given a $100 prize.

•Allen County farmer Andrew Wyss was named the America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, winner and received $2,500. He donated the money to St. Aloysius Catholic School.

•Four volunteer videos for Forgotten Children Worldwide in Bluffton were awarded money by Companies with a Mission: the Garner Family, $10,000; the Garage Sale Team, $5,000; the FCW Volunteer Group, $1,000; and the Martin Family, $1,000.
