Arts Update

AT THE LIBRARY:

•“Downton Abbey Downtown” offers “Downton Abbey” fans a chance to meet up and discuss the show at 2 p.m. Saturday at Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza; registration is required.

Registration for the March 1 event runs from Sunday through Feb. 26; free, limited seating; call 421-1212.

•“Art Here: Collaboration” will help young artists share creative ideas with other artists at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen County Public Library, Children’s Services, 900 Library Plaza.

•“Homeschool Happenings” will show participants how to make a box of chocolates using a variety of candy molds at 1 p.m. Thursday at Allen County Public Library, Young Adults’ Services, 900 Library Plaza.

•“Mangaka” offers a group for those who enjoy drawing manga and watching anime at 7 p.m. Thursday at Allen County Public Library, Young Adults’ Services, 900 Library Plaza.

CLASSES: IPFW dance classes for ages 2 to 12 are from Saturday until May 17. MEETING: The Appleseed Quilters Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Classic Café, 4832 Hillegas Road. The members will show block patterns that will help with a kids quilt or Scrappy Challenge Quilt for 2014.

CHORAL SINGERS NEEDED:

•Singers of all ages are sought for the Mennonite Choral Society for rehearsals that begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at First Mennonite Church in Berne. The society is preparing for the spring oratorio “Elijah” on May 4. Practices will continue weekly through April 29.

BOOK RELEASE: Kokomo native Richard Rose, who also has a home at Tippecanoe Lake in Kosciusko County, has published his mystery-thriller novel, “The Lazarus Conspiracies.” The book is available on Amazon.
