Verbatim: Crash closes 2100 block of S. Anthony Blvd.

A report received Monday morning from the Fort Wayne Police Department:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is on the scene of a single-vehicle crash that was reported at 1:47 AM, involving a tractor-trailer rig at the railroad overpass in the 2100 block of S. Anthony Blvd.

The trailer portion of the vehicle is wedged under the overpass, and its contents must be off-loaded before it can be moved.

In order to accomplish this task safely, the roadway has been temporarily closed to allow workers to off-load the cargo and remove the trailer.

While the exact time-frame for this process is uncertain, it is likely that this closure will extend into the morning rush hour and could cause travel delays.

Drivers who normally use this street during their morning commute are urged to avoid the area until the roadway can be cleared and re-opened.
