Fort Wayne to add gang, violent crimes unit

As mentioned in Mayor Tom Henry’s State of the City Address on Wednesday, Fort Wayne will be getting a new Gang and Violent Crimes Unit.

A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Mayor’s Office at Citizens Square.

Henry and Allen County, Indiana and federal law enforcement officials will take part, according to a statement released Thursday by Michael Joyner, public information officer for the Fort Wayne Police Department.
