Leatherman named development director

– Mayor Tom Henry announced Thursday that Greg Leatherman has been promoted to director of community development for the city of Fort Wayne.

Leatherman has nearly 25 years’ experience in local government and business. Since 2007, he’s been executive director of the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission. In addition, since 2004, he has been deputy director of community development for Fort Wayne. He has also been neighborhood code enforcement administrator, served as brownfield manager, and has experience in the private sector with leadership positions at Sturges Griffin & Trent and ATC Environmental Consulting.

Leatherman will begin his duties as director of community development immediately; he replaces John Urbahns, who took a position with Greater Fort Wayne Inc.
