IPFW loses to Denver

Forget deja vu all over again. This was Deja Vu Not True.

Down 13 points to the Denver Pioneers with 13:42 to play -- a circumstance eerily reminiscent of two weeks ago against Omaha -- the IPFW men got it down to three with 8:08 left. They got it down to four with five minutes left.

And then ...

And then, history decided not to repeat itself, the Pioneers (13-12, 6-4 Summit League) hung on tonight to take down the Mastodons 73-62 in IPFW's final home game of the season.

It was only the second loss in 14 home games this season for the Mastodons (19-9, 7-4), and it happened because the Mastodons played an uncharacteristic sloppy floor game and failed to adequately guard the 3-point line.

Denver took over the game with a 12-0 run in the first half and refused to be caught thereafter.
