2-month-old boy badly hurt in battery

Fort Wayne police are investigating a battery in which a 2-month-old boy was critically injured.

Police said late Saturday they were called to the 1400 block of West Wallen Road at 1:33 p.m. and discovered the injured infant, who was taken to a local hospital and determined to be in critical condition.

Crime scene personnel were processing the scene for evidence, and the Department of Child Services was also called.

No arrests had been made as of late Saturday, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and they are interviewing a person of interest and witnesses.

The relationship between the victim and the person of interest will be determined and released later, according to public information officer Chris Felton.
