K's win 2 of 3 in Florida

For the second straight game, Kenton Miller got the Komets going with a goal.

And again, it led to a victory.

The Komets defeated the Florida Everblades 3-1 on Saturday night in Estero, Fla.. They are 8-2-3 in the surge that began Jan. 29.

Miller opened the scoring for the Komets (28-17-6) at 15:21 of the first period.

After coming into the weekend with two goals in 40 games, he's scored in back-to-back matches.

The Komets got their second goal, on just their 10th shot, from Matt Carter for a 2-0 lead 50 seconds into the second period at Germain Arena, where the Komets lost 4-1 on Wednesday and won 4-3 in an overtime shootout Friday.

Fort Wayne's Simon Danis-Pepin fought Stefan Della Rovere midway through the second period. Della Rovere fought Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock on Friday.

After going scoreless on their first four power plays, the Komets got a goal from Scott Fleming with the man-advantage for a 3-0 lead 17:52 into the second period.

The Komets were 1 for 5 on power plays; the Everblades were 0 for 3.

Florida's Kyle Bonis scored at 16:44 of the third period, but Fort Wayne goaltender Ben Meisner stopped 32 of 33 shots.

Everblades (24-17-11) goalie Connor Knapp stopped 25 of 28.

The Komets are 3-2-0 this season against the Everblades, 3-4-0 in the all-time series.
