Ecstasy found in man’s underwear

A man who was arrested in a drug raid on West Packard Avenue just before Christmas was rearrested Friday after he failed to appear in court on the original charges and was charged with another crime after police said they found Ecstasy on him.

Travon Demetreius Russell, 22, was originally charged Dec. 23 with maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana after a raid at 336 1/2 W. Packard Ave. revealed a large quantity of marijuana and several handguns. Warrants were later issued for Russell when he didn’t show up in court, police said.

While checking out addresses where Russell was known to stay, one officer spotted Russell driving on Third Street. Another officer stopped Russell’s car in the 300 block of West Superior Street at 7:11 p.m. Friday. Police found about half an ounce of MDMA, also known as moly or Ecstasy, in his underwear.
