NEW YORK – Vice President Joe Biden and Amy Poehler aim to make a film together titled Snakes on a Train. Poehler says she’s running for president in two years.
There was plenty of kidding around on the debut of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, which was taped Monday evening and aired at 12:35 a.m. today.
Meyers welcomed Poehler, his former Saturday Night Live colleague, as his first guest. Then it was time for Biden, who was asked by Meyers about his political plans for the 2016 presidential race.
Biden replied that he had meant to make a major announcement on the show, but changed his mind. He told Meyers, Tonight’s your night. So I hope you’ll invite me back.
Meyers, who until early this month was an SNL veteran and co-anchor of its Weekend Update newscast, is filling the vacancy left by Jimmy Fallon after five years as Late Night host.
Fallon, of course, moved up last week to be host of The Tonight Show, replacing Jay Leno.
