FORT WAYNE – Justin Mitchell scored 35 points and had 15 rebounds, leading the Wayne boys basketball team to a 84-69 road victory Tuesday over Canterbury.
Mitchell made 13 of 24 shots and had nine offensive rebounds for the Generals, who trailed by two before a 49-28 run in the second and third quarters.
Cameron Leshore added 13 for Wayne, while Levi Mitchell had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Canterbury got 20 points from Grant Sinn, 19 from Andrew Kus and 18 from Trevor Uhl.
MARION 77, SOUTH SIDE 63: At South Side, James Blackmon, the former Bishop Luers player and Indiana recruit, scored 32 points for the Giants. South Side was led by Teon Fryar’s 18 points.
GUERIN CATHOLIC 80, BISHOP LUERS 61: Tyrell Johnson and J.J. Foster both scored 16 points for the Knights at home. Guerin Catholic scored 27 of the first 42 points. It led 46-35 at halftime and then went on a 17-3 run to take control.
BISHOP DWENGER 52, BELLMONT 33: Jeff Mugg’s 17 points paced the Saints at home, while teammate Kyle Hartman had 10.
HOMESTEAD 55, NORTHROP 48: At Northrop, Caleb Swanigan had 15 points and seven rebounds for Homestead, while teammate Joe Ault had 14 points and 14 rebounds. The Spartans’ Tahj Curry scored 14.
Northrop was paced by Jacoby Claypool’s 10 points and six assists.
Homestead opened the game with a 10-4 run and was up 27-16 by halftime.
DEKALB 69, LAKELAND 52: In Waterloo, Cole Hartman scored 33 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, and had four rebounds. Teammate Dahlton Daub had 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Lakeland’s Marco Olivares had 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting.
NEW HAVEN 66, BLUFFTON 32: In New Haven, the Bulldogs scored 32 of the first 41 points. Lowell Griggs had 21 points and Steve McElvene added 12.
WOODLAN 74, HAMILTON 59: In Woodburn, Greg White had 19 points, while Kadin Gerig and Jaylin Bennett scored 15 apiece for the Warriors. They led 31-29 at halftime and then went on a 27-16 run.
LAKEWOOD PARK 55, GARRETT 44: In Auburn, Bradey Gerke had 13 points for the Panthers.
