Jefferson Boulevard repairs complete

The repair work on West Jefferson Boulevard at the railroad viaduct near Catalpa Street is complete and all lanes are open to traffic, officials announced Sunday afternoon.

A 250-foot section of roadway needed extensive repairs after the concrete was destroyed by the freeze-thaw cycle of this winter's weather. The damage was so bad that instead of patching, crews poured new concrete, which required closures and detours.

City officials remind drivers that potholes will continue to form in city streets because of freeze-thaw cycles; potholes should be reported by calling 311.
