Chief Steve Bushong-Bob Beckley 40 yrs AFD

Two Albion firefighters were recognized last week for remarkably long careers volunteering to protect their community

Former Albion Fire Chief Bob Beckley, part of a long line of Beckley's to serve on the Albion Fire Department, marked 40 years in the fire service at the AFD's March 10 meeting.

Having transferred to the AFD after serving on other departments, Bob Brownell has an even more amazing longevity record: over 50 years as a firefighter, from when he was a teenager. Both men remain active today.

Beckley and Brownell were presented with their 40 and 50 year service pins before the AFD membership by Ligonier Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Sprague, District 6 Chairman of the Indiana Volunteer Firefighter's Association.
