  • Meijer agrees to pay $2 million civil penalty
    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that Meijer, Inc., of Grand Rapids, Mich., has agreed to pay a $2 million civil penalty for distributing recalled consumer products.
  • Wawaka railroad crossing closed
    The railroad crossing on Noble County Road 300 West in Wawaka is closed until Friday, according to Noble County Emergency Management. A reason wasn’t given for the closure.
  • Coats staffer in Geneva on Friday
    A member of the staff for Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., will visit Geneva in Adams County on Friday to meet with res­idents and help people ex­per­iencing problems with federal agencies.

Sessions to explain new zoning laws

Five public meetings have been scheduled to explain and answer questions about the new Allen County and Fort Wayne zoning ordinances.

All meetings will take place in the garden level of Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St.

The schedule:

•Monday Room 035, 1 p.m.

•Tuesday, Omni Room, 9:30 a.m., 1:30 and 6 p.m.

•Wednesday, Room 030, 8:30 a.m.
