TLC planning ‘Kate Plus 8’ reunion special

It seems like a lifetime ago that America bid farewell to Kate Gosselin and her brood of eight kids, but it’s been just three years since the final episode of “Kate Plus 8” aired on TLC.

Time for a reunion!

That’s not to say the divorced Gosselin is planning to meet back up with ex-husband Jon, but viewers will finally be reunited with the reality TV mom we all wanted to hate.

TLC has announced plans for a new one-hour special of “Kate Plus 8,” set to air sometime in 2014.

The special will bring fans up to speed with what Kate and her eight children have been up to since the series went off the air.

Jon, however, won’t be at the party. Kate’s ex-husband is now a waiter living in Pennsylvania, but earlier this year he told In Touch Weekly that he’s working on his own tell-all book.

‘Dinosaurs’ tour returning to U.S.

The dinosaurs are ready to roar again across America – but they’re sporting a new look.

“Walking with Dinosaurs, the Arena Spectacular” is coming back to the U.S. and Canada – its first visit to North America since its inaugural 2007 tour – and many of its lifelike puppets will be wearing downy feathers, reflecting recent discoveries.

The show travels 200 million years from Triassic to the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, features 20 life-size dinosaurs from 10 species, including a mother Tyrannosaurus Rex and her baby, both of which will have feathers.

NatGeo to chronicle ’90s in miniseries

Nostalgia gets closer and closer to real time. The National Geographic Network says it will air a miniseries this summer on the 1990s.

The project premieres this July on the cable network and follows on the heels of National Geographic’s success chronicling the 1980s last spring.

The network said some 120 people who made some mark on the 1990s have been interviewed, including actress Susan Sarandon and rock singer Courtney Love.

It will examine the Clinton presidency and rise of Osama bin Laden.

Crystal, Gad to star in new FX series

Billy Crystal has agreed to star in a new television series in which he’s paired with Josh Gad in a story about two comics in a generational clash.

The series is called “The Comedians.” It’s set to air on the FX network next year.

FX said Wednesday it has ordered 13 episodes.

“The Comedians” is based on a format popular in Sweden and will look at a late-night TV show on which egos and generations collide.

Crystal has been well known for movie roles, a “Saturday Night Live” stint and repeated turns as Academy Awards host. But his last role in a regular TV series was on the 1970s ABC sitcom “Soap.”
