Indianapolis Tech wins Class 4A crown

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Arsenal Tech ran out to a large lead Saturday night, then had to hang on in the fourth quarter to earn a 63-59 victory over Lake Central in the Class 4A Indiana boys high school state championship game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

A comeback fell short for Lake Central, which came back from more than 20 points down to pull within 62-59 with 14.9 seconds left in the game. University of Kentucky recruit and Tech senior Trey Lyles iced the game with a free throw with 10.9 seconds to go.

The title is the first boys basketball title in 99 years of competition for Tech. Titans coach Jason Delaney also became the seventh coach in state history to win a state title with two different schools.
