Relentless rain; severe storms possible

A flood advisory has been issued for the following counties in the region until 3 p.m. Thursday:

  • Adams County.
  • Allen County.
  • DeKalb County.
  • Wells County.
  • Defiance County.
  • Williams County.
  • Paulding County.
  • Van Wert County.
Shortly before noon, the National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with very heavy rain in the region. Some areas have gotten 1 to 2 inches of rain so far today. Another inch could fall before 2 p.m., according to a statement issued by the National Weather Service in northern Indiana.

Minor flooding is forecast, but high water could cover some roads.

Northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio can expect more rain and thunderstorms through the night, with severe storms in some areas.

The Thursday forecast for Fort Wayne shows heavy rain and a high near 45 degrees.
