2 lawmakers to talk health care

Two Republican lawmakers who are also doctors will visit Fort Wayne, Pierceton and seven other Indiana cities to discuss various aspects of health care.

U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon, who represents the 8th District in southwest Indiana, and state Rep. Tim Brown of Crawfordsville will be at Lutheran Health Network, 7950 W. Jefferson Blvd., on April 16 to talk with staff about Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.

Later that day, the lawmakers will tour Paragon Medical, a producer of surgical instruments and implantable components in Pierceton.

Bucshon, a cardiothoracic surgeon, and Brown, an emergency room physician, will discuss medical care for children, minorities, military veterans and rural residents in other cities during their visits, which will begin April 14 and end April 25.
