  • K's fall to 5 in power rankings, get new player
The Komets have signed Brett Beebe, who was in training camp with them and has been playing with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
  • Things to check out
For the first time this season, the Komets aren't on top of the Eastern Conference standings. Losing three of five games will do that to a team.
  • Bad loss yields great highlights
Even though the Komets lost 3-1 to the Greenville Road Warriors -- and lost their hold on first place in the Eastern Conference for the first time this season -- I think you will enjoy the highlights in the video here.

Komets clinch playoff berth with exciting win

A 4-3 victory over the Evansville IceMen clinched a playoff berth for the Komets on April 11, 2014. Check out the highlights.

Review, look forward

On the cusp of their 4-3 victory over the Evansville IceMen, with which they clinched a playoff berth, here's a look at the playoff scenarios heading into today.

The Komets, who are tied for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with Wheeling, finish the regular-season tonight against Toledo. Wheeling, which holds the tiebreaker over Fort Wayne, plays tonight at Cincinnati. The seventh seed will play South Carolina, Kalamazoo or Orlando, while the eighth will take on Reading in a first-round best-of-seven playoff series.

I can about guarantee you, of that group, the Komets would like to play South Carolina.

There was a great feeling of relief in the Komets locker room tonight.

"It's a great feeling. Every guy has worked hard for this. It's a huge game, a great comeback win and character win for us," said Christian Ouellet, who scored twice, including the game-winner. "We played a great game and it's a great feeling. … We had great composure after the second period. We knew we had played a great game and knew we just had to get in the offensive zone and create more movement in front of the net. "
