Fries gets Farm nod

Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries has received the endorsement of the Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT in his primary election race for the District 15 Indiana State Senate seat.

Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT is the political action committee affiliated with Indiana Farm Bureau, which has 213,000 members. Farm Bureau prides itself on listening to its members when it comes to developing its position on important public policy issues. Awarding an ELECT endorsement is a cumbersome three-tiered process that provides the opportunity for action in each state legislative district in Indiana.

"It is a privilege to be honored by Indiana's farmers," Fries said. "This endorsement means a lot to me because of the comprehensive process the Farm Bureau goes through to learn about candidates' views and how they will impact Indiana residents."

Since 1985 the District 15 Indiana Senate seat has been held by Republican Tom Wyss, who announced in September that he would not seek re-election.
