READING, Pa. -- Referee Brett Sheva was doing a great job of letting the teams play, despite the constant griping of the fans at Santander Arena.

But at the end of the second period -- the Komets and Royals are tied at 1 -- he called a weak roughing penalty on Fort Wayne's Jordon Southorn.

It wasn't necessary. It wasn't keeping with what he had let go. And now the Royals have all of intermission to prepare for the power play.

Anyone think they won't score?

Anyway, Komets goalie Ben Meisner has made some very good saves. The Royals are really going after Fort Wayne's Brandon Marino. But he still had the best two shots of the period, only to get stopped by Brandon Anderson.

No matter what happens in the rest of this game, the Komets have played an impressive five periods on the road against the defending champions.
