Fernando Perez earns player of the week

The TinCaps' Fernando Perez, currently working on a 10-game hitting streak, was named the Midwest League player of the week.

In six games from April 14-20, Perez hit .458 with three doubles, a homer and nine RBI.

Perez, who has played first base, second base and third base, has 17 hits in his last 43 at-bats. The 20-year old native of Mexico owns the longest hitting streak in the league this year and will try to extend it to 11 tonight at Great Lakes.
