2 molestation counts for sex with girl, 13

Ronte Lequan Latham

A 20-year-old man faces two counts of child molesting, accused of having sexual intercourse with a then-13-year-old girl he met while working at Weisser Park Center.

Ronte Lequan Latham, of the 2900 block of Alexander Street, was charged Monday with two counts of felony child molesting, according to court documents.

The girl told police she met Latham while visiting Weisser Park for activities, the documents said.

She told police Latham did not ask her age before or during sex that took place at his home.

The girl became pregnant and later had an abortion in February 2013, court documents said.

Latham told police he did not know her age and did not ask, but was aware that she had an abortion.

He also said he met her while working as a staff member during the summer at Weisser Park Center, but did not talk to her then as he “was not allowed to be that way with the kids.”

Latham had not been arrested Monday.
