Good start for K's

It certainly wasn't the most exciting period I've ever seen, but it was a successful one for the Komets. They got the only goal at Memorial Coliseum and outshot the Reading Royals 14-12.

Reading, which won 4-2 in Game 2 on Saturday in Pennsylvania, had a flurry of chances in the first 7 minutes, including a breakaway by forward Ryan Cruthers that was stopped by goaltender Ben Meisner.

The Komets scored at 7:50 with forward Aaron Clarke and goalie Riley Gill were both sprawled on the ice. Clarke was able to sweep the puck into the net as Gill was defenseless to stop it.
