TinCaps make roster moves

On Thursday, right-hander Yimmi Brasoban was sent from Fort Wayne to Short-Season Eugene. Brasoban, 19, was 0-2 with a 14.29 ERA in four games. In 11 1/3 innings, he walked 11, struck out 11, and gave up 18 earned runs.

Coming to the TinCaps is right-hander Bryan Verbitsky from Advanced-A Lake Elsinore. Verbitsky, 21, was a third-round selection of the Padres last year out of Hofstra.

He played last season with Short-Season Eugene, going 0-6 with a 4.01 ERA in 14 starts. Over 49 1/3 innings, he struck out 47, walked 38, and gave up 22 earned runs.

Friday, first baseman Luis Tejada was sent from Fort Wayne to Double-A San Antonio. Tejada, 21, a 2013 Midwest League All-Star, is hitting .189 with no home runs and five RBI.

First baseman Jake Bauers was sent from extended spring training to the TinCaps. Bauers, 18, was a seventh-round selection by the Padres out of Marina (CA) High School last year.

With the Arizona League Padres in 2013, he hit .282 with one home run and 25 RBI.
