IPFW honors basketball players Hyde, Jacobo

IPFW honors Hyde, Jacobo

IPFW basketball players Luis Jacobo and Amanda Hyde are the school’s Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

They were honored at the IPFW Athletics Banquet on Sunday night, closing out a season in which the Mastodon men won a school-record 25 games, advanced to the title game of the Summit League tournament and played in a postseason tournament for the first time.

The women earned the No. 3 seed in the women’s tournament.

Other honorees included men’s volleyball player Eddie Rivera (Senior Male Athlete award); men’s basketball player Mo Evans (Freshman Male Athlete of the Year); women’s tennis player Mayu Sato (Freshman Female Athlete of the Year); Steve Walley (Fan of the Year); Mark Franke (Volunteer of the Year) and women’s basketball player Hailey Ripley (Doc Skelton Award).
