Records held in MMA fighter home invasion case
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports (http://bit.ly/1ltI2ky) that Third Judicial District Judge Douglas Driggers decided last week the sheriff's office doesn't have to make public more documents related to the investigation.
The ruling came after an attorney for MMA fighter Joseph Torrez requested reports about the investigation through open records laws.
Deputies say Torrez fatally stabbed an alleged intruder, 25-year-old Sal Garces, during a Jan. 1 suspected home invasion.
Torrez has not been charged.
