Gas station stabbing victim is identified

Death declared 4th homicide of year


The man stabbed to death at a Fort Wayne gas station on Thursday night was identified as Raynell C. White, 30, of Fort Wayne, according to the Allen County coroner's office.

White's death is the fourth homicide in Fort Wayne and the county this year, the coroner's office said in a statement.

About 8:20 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the Clark station at Wayne Trace and Drexel Avenue after a report of a fight and possible stabbing, city police said.

When police arrived, they said they found a man lying injured in the station's parking lot.

The victim was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where he died, police said.
