Three people were arrested Thursday on drug-related charges after a meth lab was located at a residence north of Pierceton, the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department said today.

In a statement, the sheriff's department said officers with the Warsaw and county drug task forces went to an address in the 2100 North block of County Road 850 East in an attempt to execute an arrest warrant for Gary John Alto, 54, of Pierceton.

Officers discovered one-pot meth labs inside the residence, the statement said, and the Indiana State Police Meth Lab Team was called to the scene to dismantle and secure them.

Police said Alto was preliminarily charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine, felony dealing/manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine. He was being held in the county jail on $20,000 bond.

While investigators were at the scene, two others arrived who police interviewed and subsequently arrested, the statement said.

Derek Robert Fleckenstein, 35, who police said told them he was homeless, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while suspended with a prior. He was being held on $2,000 bond.

A 30-year-old Fort Wayne woman was preliminarily charged with misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and released on $350 bond. The Journal Gazette does not normally name suspects charged with misdemeanor offenses.
