Police find meth lab, arrest 3 in Kosciusko

Three people were arrested Thursday on drug-related charges after a meth lab was found at a home north of Pierceton, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.

The sheriff’s department said officers with the Warsaw and county drug task forces went to an address in the 2100 block of North County Road 850 East to execute an arrest warrant for Gary John Alto, 54, of Pierceton.

Officers discovered one-pot meth labs inside the home, and the Indiana State Police Meth Lab Team was called to dismantle and secure them, police said.

Alto was preliminarily charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine, felony dealing/manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine.

He was being held in the Kosciusko county jail on $20,000 bond.

While investigators were at the scene, two other people arrived who police interviewed and subsequently arrested, according to police.

Derek Robert Fleckenstein, 35, who told police he was homeless, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving with a suspended license. He was being held in lieu of $2,000 bail.

A 30-year-old Fort Wayne woman was preliminarily charged with misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and was released on $350 bond.
