Village Post Office to open in Warsaw

A Village Post Office is to open Wednesday at Bargain Barn in Warsaw, the U.S. Postal Service said tonight.

A ribbon-cutting will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the store, 1900 E. Winona Ave., with an open house to follow from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the postal service said in a statement.

It's the 64th such office in Indiana, the statement said.

"We're in a very heavy traffic shopping area, and I think it will bring more business to the store," store owner Harold Schapson said in the statement. "I think it will be a great convenience for our customers to be able to pick up a book of stamps or Priority Mail boxes while shopping at our store."

The Bargain Barn is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and during May will be open Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
