ATV driver airlifted after crash

One man was in a hospital Saturday after a crashing an all-terrain vehicle in Noble County on Friday night, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources reported.

Jeffrey C. Gallup, 39, of Wolcottville, was driving a Kawasaki 450R ATV on the road in the 3900 block of County Road 1150 North at 9:58 p.m. on Friday when the machine overturned, causing him to fall out of it.

Gallup was not wearing a helmet or other safety equipment at the time of the crash. Because he suffered head and internal injuries, he was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, officials said.

The crash is still under investigation.
