5 police agencies chase suspect to lake home

Five police agencies got involved Sunday after an altercation at the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area in Kosciusko County.

Paul J. Miller, 43, of Cromwell, was arrested Sunday, charged with resisting arrest with a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Indiana conservation officers.

According to reports, an officer tried to speak with Miller at Tri-County but the man fled to his home on North Biscayne Lane in a Ford box truck, followed by officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, North Webster Police Department, Syracuse Police Department and the Ligonier Police Department, as well as two conservation officers.

The police said Miller refused to get out of the truck, locking his doors and rolling up the windows. Officers got inside by smashing a window and unlocking a door, the statement said.

Miller was shot with a Taser and arrested, the police said.

His truck was impounded.
