Deaconess placement

Concordia Theological Seminary, 6600 N. Clinton St., will give final-year deaconess students their placement at 10 a.m. Thursday in Kramer Chapel with the Rev. Dean M. Bell of St. John Lutheran Church in Ada, Minnesota.

Meditation retreat

Indiana Buddhist Temple, 7528 Thompson Road, Hoagland, will host a meditation retreat Thursday through May 26 with Buddhist monk Bhante Santhidhammo. Vesak Day will celebrate Buddha’s birthday at 11 a.m. May 24.
