The Leo softball team lived dangerously, but live the Lions did.
They overcame five errors to survive 3-2 at Wawasee in a Class 3A regional final Tuesday.
Wawasee starter Amber Lemberg faced only six batters above the minimum, but she allowed three runs on six hits in suffering a complete-game loss.
The Lions stole seven bases, three by Hannah Risser, en route to their first regional title.
Junior Linsey Bowers threw a complete game and Abbie Heischman had the only RBI for Leo.
The Lions (24-6) face Hanover Central on Saturday at semistate.
The Warriors finished 20-11.
YORKTOWN 4, NORWELL 2: The Knights (19-9) suffered a regional loss at home when Yorktown scored late insurance runs and held on in a Class 3A regional.
