2 charged with dealing heroin

– A husband and wife from Fort Wayne were formally charged Friday in the sale of multiple drugs, including heroin, from their home across the street from a city park.

Tonya L. Bay, 46, and Joshua J. Bay, 34, both face three counts each of dealing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and one count each of maintaining a common nuisance, synthetic drug possession and paraphernalia possession.

Probable cause affidavits said a confidential informant bought heroin twice in May from the Bays – once at their home at 2401 Redwood Ave., one of the streets that borders McCormick Park.

The park is near Coliseum Boulevard South, Pontiac Street and New Haven Avenue.

The other buy was in the couple’s car at a nearby gas station.

When police searched the home Monday, they found 108 various pills, all controlled substances, according to an affidavit.

They also found a little more than a third of an ounce of heroin and more than 3 ounces of synthetic marijuana.

Along with the drugs were multiple used needles and burnt spoons, court records said.

Tonya and Joshua Bay were being held Friday night in lieu of $160,000 bail each.
