Garrett's Ian Belville, an All-ACAC second-team selection, has committed to play baseball at Saint Francis.
Belville batted .280 for the Railroaders playing second base, shortstop and pitching. He finished with a 3-4 record and led Garrett in innings pitched with 46.
Two of Belville’s three wins came against DeKalb and then No. 7 Norwell this season.
“USF is a good fit because I’ll get a great education and continue to play the game I love,” Belville said in a statement released by Saint Francis. “I’m undecided now regarding a major, but USF has a wide variety of options to choose from. I know quite a few of the players who have already committed through playing travel ball and high school, so I’m looking forward to playing with them.”
Belville attended Northrop for two years before transferring to Garrett.
“He’s athletic and I really like his work ethic,” USF coach Greg Roberts said in the school-provided statement.
