Ex-Stutzman staffer to work for Koch

Politico reported Wednesday that Matt Lloyd, former chief of staff for Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd, will join Koch Industries Inc. as its communications director.

Lloyd will be based in Washington for Koch, the Wichita, Kansas-based conglomerate run by brothers Charles Koch and David Koch, who finance conservative Republican causes.

Politico's Playbook column reported that Lloyd will report to Steve Lombardo, Koch's chief communications and marketing officer.

Lloyd had been communications director for nearly 10 years for then-Rep. Mike Pence, R-6th - now Indiana's governor - before going to work for Stutzman in late 2012. Lloyd told The Journal Gazette in early May that he was resigning from Stutzman's staff to pursue other career interests.

Lloyd also had worked in communications positions for the George W. Bush administration and for Republican Reps. Kevin Brady of Texas and Rick Hill of Montana.
