High school notebook: Woodlan coach takes Braves volleyball job

Woodlan volleyball coach Lindsay Roth will replace Sarah Ernst at Blackhawk Christian.

Roth was 51-15 in two years at Woodlan and won sectional and regional championships this past season.

Ernst, who led the Braves to three straight sectional titles and two regionals, is moving to Michigan.

Roth, formerly Lindsay Enterline, was a standout basketball and volleyball player at Heritage and Indiana University.

Roth’s husband, Matt, is a former IU basketball player and is currently an assistant coach with the Blackhawk Christian boys basketball program.

Area signing

West Noble’s Jaden Krest has signed with the Huntington University men’s track program.

5 area track athletes picked as all-stars

Five northeast Indiana athletes will represent Team Indiana in the 2014 Midwest Meet of Champions All-Star event against along with the best of the best from Ohio and Michigan today and Saturday in Granville, Ohio.

On the girls team will be Carroll’s Sara McKeeman and Concordia’ Symone Black.

On the boys team are Concordia’s Zach Panning and Warsaw teammates Seth Fouts and Gabe Furnivall.

Also tonight, the Mr. and Ms. Track and Field award winners will be announced.
