Felon accused of trying to sell 3 guns

A convicted felon was charged Thursday in what police said was an attempt to sell three guns.

Jason A. Wilson, 35, of the 7400 block of Burnsdale Avenue, faces charges of carrying a handgun without a license and driving with a suspended license.

On Monday, police were called to a Fort Wayne home where someone said Wilson wanted to sell three guns.

The person he wanted to sell them to told a family member to call police because Wilson was on probation and not allowed to have weapons, a probable cause affidavit said.

When city police and a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent arrived, they found a shotgun, a rifle and a revolver in a bag in Wilson’s trunk, according to the affidavit.

Wilson, convicted in 2010 of a felony charge of strangulation and sentenced to 1 1/2 years in prison, was being held Thursday in lieu of $10,750 bail.
