Three people were arrested Thursday in Warsaw, accused of selling morphine and growing marijuana.

About 1:30 p.m., undercover narcotics officers with the Warsaw Police Department went to an apartment at 163 N. 175 E. where they found a woman who just left the building and had a bottle with eight morphine pills, police said.

The woman, Jennifer Moore, 25, of Warsaw did not have a prescription for the pills and was arrested on one preliminary charge each of possession of a controlled substance and dealing a controlled substance, police said.

In the apartment, police found Leroy Houchin, 46, who told police he traded the morphine to Moore in exchange for some marijuana.

Police said they also found marijuana growing in the apartment.

Houchin was jailed on preliminary charges of dealing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit dealing and marijuana possession.

A third person, 35-year-old Kari Hughes, was also at the apartment and was arrested on a warrant for dealing a controlled substance in connection with a trade of pills with Houchin earlier in the day, police said.

Houchin and Moore were being held in lieu of $10,000 bail, and Hughes was being held without bail.
