City Council made it clear on Tuesday that it should be the only entity to approve Legacy spending when it rejected the city controller’s proposal to set up a fund that would allow her to borrow from the Legacy Fund for emergency expenses. What do you think about the council’s decision to reject the proposal?
Jim Keller: sounds like they’re doing their job to me ... allowing a city controller to have access is just asking for potential abuse/problems in the future.
Leoba R. Stratton: Council should be in control of resources. Tired of mayor spending too much money on useless studies.
Edward H. Redmon: Good! The Mayor has already spent to much of this fund. About time the Council put a stop to him raiding this resource. Let’s use it in the manner it was intended.
Tammy Baker Dull: Pat Roller...isn’t she the one who was accused of bullying the former fire chief? Now, she wants her hands on $5mil of the Legacy Fund? I can’t believe Paddock and Shoaff actually supported this! Thanks to those who opposed it!
