Long announces committee assignments

Senate President Pro Tem David Long, R-Fort Wayne, on Monday announced the 2014 Study Committee assignments for Republican senators.

Lawmakers will study a number of topics this summer. The three other caucus leaders also have assignments to make.

Here are the committees northeast Indiana senators will serve on:

Sen. Jim Banks, R-Columbia City – Midwestern Higher Education Commission; Interim Study Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs; Indiana Veterans’ Affairs Commission.

Sen. Sue Glick, R-LaGrange – Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources; Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs; Interim Study Committee on Government; Judicial Technology Oversight Committee.

Sen. Travis Holdman, R- Markle - Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance; Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs; Commission on Improving the Status of Children in Indiana.

Sen. Dennis Kruse, R-Auburn - Interim Study Committee on Education; Education Commission of the States; Education Roundtable.

Long – Legislative Council and Personnel Subcommittee of Legislative Council.

Sen. Tom Wyss, R-Fort Wayne - Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation; Counterterrorism and Security Council; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission; Indiana Homeland Security Foundation; Interim Study Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs.
