6 get qualifying offers from Komets

The Komets made valid qualifying offers to six players by the June 30 deadline, the ECHL announced today.

The offers to Ben Meisner, Scott Fleming, Brandon Marino, Aaron Clarke, Christian Ouellet and Dean Ouellet must remain open until Aug. 1, the league said in a statement.

It said each team was entitled to reserve the rights to a maximum of eight qualified players, no more than four of whom could be veterans with 260 or more regular-season pro games played at the start of the 2014-15 season.

Players already signed by June 30 did not need to receive a qualifying offer, the statement said.
