Northeast Indiana storm kills teen, 64-year-old man

Two people died early Tuesday as storms ripped through northeast Indiana.

Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson said 14-year-old Daniel Holbrook died in Winona Lake.

The Winona Lake Police Department said firefighters and officers were sent to 1202 Wooster Road, Lot 76, at 1:18 a.m. When they arrived, the found a large tree had broken off and landed on a mobile home.

Two people were found immediately and had no injuries, but safety workers were told that two more people were in a bedroom at the front of the residence.

One person was quickly found with minor injuries and the boy was located in the debris with fatal injuries.

In LaGrange County, Larry T. Davisson, 64, was killed when his house was struck by a large tree on the northeast side of Big Long Lake, according to Deputy Coroner Bruce Coney.

The man’s wife got out of the house safely, he said.
