Verbatim: Police find 2nd St. Marys Ave. active meth lab

A statement received Friday morning:

In the early hours of July 11, 2014 just after neutralizing the 28th active Meth Lab found in Allen County, the Fort Wayne Meth Suppression Unit found the 29th Meth Lab just 2 blocks away.

After wrapping up from a Meth Lab investigation at 1036 ½ St. Marys Ave. the team decided to investigate another location which led to another Meth Lab at 830 St. Marys Ave. Apt 1

The residence contained 5 adults and an active one pot Meth lab, a Meth generator and several items of paraphernalia. Amanda Renee Lee female age 26 was found inside the residence and was charged with:

Manufacture of Methamphetamine Level 2

Warrant for Dealing Meth and Maintaining a Common Nuisance issued 6/17/14 NO BOND

Also found inside the residence was William Howard Smiley a male age 51 he was also charged with:

Manufacture of Methamphetamine Level 2

Maintaining a Common Nuisance Level 6

Possession of Meth Precursors Level 6

Bond set at $50,000

In addition to the felony arrests 2 other people were charges with misdemeanors of visiting a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia. The Allen County Board of Health has condemned the apartment pending the outcome of their investigation into the contamination issues involved in houses where Meth is cooked.

This investigation is ongoing.
