Anniversary celebration

St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2421 S. Hanna St., will observe its 89th anniversary with Pastor Gregory Haygood of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, South Bend, at 4 p.m. Sunday.


“Helping Hurting People” is the theme for the 93rd annual session of the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Indiana to be held at 6 p.m. Monday at The Lantern, 4420 Ardmore Ave. Guests include Mayor Tom Henry and other Democratic leaders.


Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Ave., will have an old-fashioned hymn sing and ice cream social at 3 p.m. Sunday.
