South downs North in All-Star game

The South defeated the North 12-9 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep in the Indiana high school all-star game in Richmond.

The North pulled even at 1 in the top of the second before allowing seven runs in the bottom the inning. The South was able to capitalize on three North errors to score its runs on six hits.

North Side’s Zach McKinstry was walked with the bases loaded in the fifth to bring home Lafayette Central Catholic’s Evan Kennedy.

Down 11-4 going into the seventh, the North was able to get five runs off four hits, capitalizing on three South errors.

Carroll’s Taylor Goshen took the loss, allowing eight runs, (six earned) in 1 1/3 innings.

McKinstry went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Northrop’s Colin Brokhouse went 1 for 3, and East Noble’s Grey Fox was 0 for 3.
